The Artist Spotlight is your inside look into the influences, collaborations and prompts that drive the NightCafe community.

We catch up with some of our most original creators to find what inspires them, who their favorite creators are, and how they use image generator algorithms as part of their work.

NC: WHAT INFLUENCES YOUR WORK?

I try to be creative with the resources for AI generated art. I spent a lot of time researching different artists to use in different combinations. 

I usually use at least 5 artist per creation and see what pops up. I have what I call a playbook of around 400 artists to use in those combinations. 

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. The black and whites are taken from attempts that I don't feel like publishing, but save to my photos instead. There I manipulate the image before re-uploading to NighCafe and publishing.

NC: MOST UNDERRATED ARTIST ON NIGHTCAFE?

NC: PROMPT THAT MOST SURPRISED YOU?

I only really use one prompt, modified with colour and artist combinations. So I think I’ll keep that for myself!

NC: ANY TIPS FOR PROMPT WRITING?

Keep trying. Think outside the box. Find something that works and just explore it.

NC: WHAT LED YOU TO USING NIGHTCAFE?

I saw a friend on Facebook start to post their creations a while back. I thought it looked like fun and wanted to see what I could do. 

It took awhile to find my groove, and honestly I haven’t been as active as I used to be, but I still find it a great way to create.

I feel honoured to be asked to be a part of the spotlight.
