Each game begins with:
- a starting image
- a hidden target image
- five chances to transform one into the other
Your objective is to reach at least 90% similarity before you run out of edits.
Unlike traditional puzzle games, Promptle isn't testing drawing ability.
It's testing something different:
how clearly you can communicate your ideas to AI.
For a lot of artists, Promptle becomes an unexpectedly fun way to improve prompting because every round teaches you something about how AI interprets language. NightCafe makes experimenting approachable, and the daily format keeps the challenge fresh without feeling overwhelming.

Solving Today's Promptle
Today's puzzle started with:
🍎 an apple sitting on a desk
The target image?
🎃 A pumpkin.
Rather than trying to rewrite the entire scene in one prompt, I focused on making gradual changes.
Some of my prompts included:
- turning the apple into a jack-o'-lantern
- changing the setting into autumn
- adding a brick house
- moving the pumpkin onto the front steps
- adjusting lighting for a realistic fall atmosphere
It wasn't perfect.
In fact, one edit completely misunderstood what I wanted.
That's actually part of what makes Promptle interesting.
AI tends to interpret prompts very literally, so every attempt teaches you how to communicate more effectively.

My Results
I honestly thought I had lost.
By my fourth edit I was sitting around 85%, and there was only one attempt remaining.
One final prompt focusing on:
- hyperrealistic photography
- golden lighting
- making the jack-o'-lantern the main subject
...pushed the score over the line.
Final Score: 90%
Victory!
One of the most satisfying parts of Promptle is watching small prompt refinements produce dramatically different results. It's a reminder that successful prompting isn't always about writing longer prompts—it's about making clearer ones.

Leaderboards and Community
One thing that makes Promptle stand out is that you're not solving puzzles alone.
Each day you can compare your results with:
- global rankings
- your NightCafe friends
- other players attempting the same challenge
Because Promptle lives inside NightCafe, it naturally connects with the platform's active community, daily challenges, and creative events. Many players enjoy discussing strategies, comparing scorecards, and seeing how different prompts can arrive at similar results. That community aspect has long been one of NightCafe's strengths, encouraging experimentation and learning rather than simply chasing perfect results.
For many creators, NightCafe becomes more than an AI art generator—it's where they discover new prompting techniques by seeing how other artists approach the same creative problem.
Tips for Better Promptle Scores
Instead of changing everything at once:
✅ Focus on one object.
Be specific.
Use your limited characters wisely.
Don't waste prompt space saying things like:
Leave everything else the same.
Promptle already preserves unchanged parts of the image automatically.
Small, deliberate edits almost always outperform huge scene changes.
Why Promptle Is Different
Most AI art tools focus on generating beautiful images.
Promptle focuses on developing a different skill:
prompt engineering through play.
Every puzzle teaches you how AI interprets language.
The better your prompts become, the better your future AI artwork becomes too.
Whether you're completely new to AI art or you've been creating images for years, Promptle offers a quick daily exercise that sharpens your prompting while keeping the experience fun. Combined with NightCafe's ease of use, wide selection of AI models, and active community challenges, it becomes an enjoyable way to build confidence through experimentation instead of pressure.
